Fireman Creative What’s the Point 5K
Fireman Creative will be hosting its first annual “What’s the Point 5K (get it?),” a half kilometer run/walk/crawl/hobble/ride on Sunday, September 16, 2018. A “race” for the fit, unfit, and everyone in between! This all-participant fun run is designed to get everyone laughing. Grab your dusty running shoes and meet us there!
Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 12:00 Noon
Westinghouse Park, North Point Breeze
Pre-race Trash Dash at 10 a.m.
The race will start and finish at Westinghouse Park in Pittsburgh, PA and is set to begin at 12:00 PM, rain or shine. All race participants and supporters are invited back to the Evergreen Cafe at 7330 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208 for our after party (must be of age to booze).
The entertainment-filled .5K event features a “challenging” 546* yard “race” for all ages plus:
- A midpoint carbo-loading doughnut station
- Live music to lift your spirits on the “challenging” course
- Yoga mats and nap station (for physically exhausted runners)
- A taco truck, sno-cones, and coffee to restore your energy after the race
- A kids’ arts & craft zone
- A beer-filled after party (for hydration purposes, of course)
Costumes are welcome and encouraged, as are four legged participants (must be on a leash).
The entry fee is $10 in advance, $15 at the door, or $25 if you paid early which includes a spot in the race, an awesome t-shirt, a euro-style 0.5k sticker for your car, a themed bib, donuts, coffee, and an invitation to the after party at the Evergreen Cafe. This event will raise money for the beautification of Westinghouse Park, so even if the legs are too rusty to move, come anyway and support our “runners” for a good cause.
All ages are welcome, and there will be prizes for infant, toddler, kid, adult, and golden divisions.
The main race begins at noon, but there is a “Trash Dash” planned for 10:00 AM to tidy up the park before the race. The first five people to pick up the most trash will have their race fees covered.
Haven’t left the couch in months and worried you won’t make it? Event sponsor, Mini of Pittsburgh, will provide a Mini-Cooper to scoop up all of the stragglers and drive them to glory! Shhhh… we won’t tell anyone.
Register below. We’ll see you there!
* It’s actually closer to 547 yards, but we didn’t want to scare anyone off.
